The 2013–14 New Jersey Devils season was the 40th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 11, 1974,[2] and 31st season since the franchise relocated to New Jersey to start the 1982–83 NHL season. For the second straight season, the Devils failed to make the playoffs.
