In a game with 27 goals, one of the best performances at this MJHL All-Star Game actually came from one of the netminders. Addison Herosian only allowed three goals in his 30 minutes of work to help the Addison Division beat the Sher-Wood Division 16-11 on Wednesday night, January 19 at Swan River.
The Addison Division all-stars pumped in 10 goals in the middle frame, showing the sort of touch around the net that earned them an invite to this offensive showcase. 17 Addison players record at least a point. Chapen Leblond led the way with three goals and one assist for the winning team. Three players scored two goals and two assists – Brett Chartier, Evan Gravenor representing the Blues (though a member of the Dauphin Kings), and Tanner Harms. Scoring once and adding three helpers was Cole Brunet and Joel Ridgeway. Michael Wilgosh had a goal and two helpers, while Colan Jackson dented the twine twice. Tim Hayduk and Adam Stoykewych each had a goal and an assist to round out the scoring. Cole Pruden had three helpers.
Joey Rewucki shared netminding duties with Herosian. The duo faced 65 shots.
Despite coming out on the wrong end of the score, the local fans had plenty to cheer, as all three Stampeders named to this team combined for five goals and six assists. Shelby Gray completed his hat trick late in the third. He also chipped in an assist. Ryan Marshall scored twice, including the first goal of the game 46 seconds in. He added three assists for a five-point night, the most any all-star managed. Clark Bzczynski added two helpers.
Shane Luke and Tyler Moore each scored two goals and one assist. Kyle Johnson and Brendan Harms rounded out the scoring with a goal and two helpers. Stephane Pattyn had a strong night with four assists, while Bryn Chyzyk had three assists. Matt Krahn and Jason Kasdorf were likely wondering how being an all-star netminder benefitted them as they faced a combined onslaught of 63 shots.
