The 2009 NHL Poker Championship (or, more precisely, the NHL Charity Shootout) was a charity poker tournament held for the benefit of the Ronald McDonald House of Las Vegas, Nevada and the NHLPA's Goals and Dreams fund. Even though not all competitors were NHL players, including PokerStars professionnal players, it was most notable for the strong showing of several NHL players.[1]
Notable NHL players who made it to the final table included:
- Roberto Luongo (vice-champion)
- Scott Hartnell (champion)
- Kris Versteeg
