Held Tuesday afternoon, December 08, and Wednesday night, December 09, in Winkler, Manitoba.
For the first time, the CJHL Prospects Teams played a two-game total goal series.
In conjunction with the 2009 CJHL Prospects Challenge, the Winkler Flyers annual Sportsman's Dinner was held on December 8th. NHL Hall of Fame Goaltenders Gerry Cheevers and Billy Smith were the guest speakers.
Game 1[]
Brendan O’Donnell scored a goal enroute to a five-point afternoon, helping Team West post a convincing 8-1 victory. Team West took a 3-0 lead in the first period with goals from Clarke Breitkreuz, Trevor Cameron and Daniel Carr. The West squad continued to dominate with two more unanswered goals in the second period from Brendan O'Donnell and Carson Cooper. Team West would go on to score two third period goals, including Trevor Cameron's second of the game and a goal from Beau Bennett, before Nick Quinn would answer for Team East. Dylan Walchuk scored the final marker of the game to finalize an 8-1 victory.
