The 2008 East Regional of the NCAA Tournament took place March 28 and 29, 2008, at the Times Union Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. The regional was hosted by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and ECAC Hockey.

The participants were:

  1. Michigan Wolverines (#1 overall seed)
  2. St. Cloud State Huskies
  3. Clarkson Golden Knights
  4. Niagara Purple Eagles

Michigan was the CCHA champion, and Niagara was the College Hockey America champion. St. Cloud State and Clarkson advanced to the NCAA Tournament by way of at-large bids.

First Round[]

The first round games were played on Friday, March 28. Of the four games played that day (including the two at the 2008 West Regional), three were upsets; only Michigan won as a higher seed.
