This was the 2007-08 International Hockey League season. This is the league's first season under this name, it was previously known as the United Hockey League.
Franchise changes[]
- The Port Huron Flags were renamed the Port Huron Icehawks.
- The Elmira Jackals joined the ECHL.
- The Rockford IceHogs joined the AHL
- The Quad City Mallards went out of existance when the Calgary Flames moved their AHL affilate to Moline, Illinois and called them the Quad City Flames
- The Chicago Hounds suspended operations on June 6, 2007 after being unable to secure a lease at their arena, the Sears Centre.
