This is the 2004-05 Northern Pacific Hockey League season. This was the league's fifth season. The league played as a Tier III Junior B for its first seven seasons.

The league had the following team relocate from the previous season: The league added the following teams:

  • Queen City Cutthroats (based in Helena, MT)
  • River City Jaguars (based in Beaverton, OR)

The following teams remained in the league the previous season:

  • Butte Roughriders
  • Kootenai Colts (based in Coeur d'Alene, ID)
  • Tri-City Titans (based in Pasco, Washington)
  • Portland Pioneers
  • Spokane Flyers
