Jamie Hoffman who was the 230th overall pick by the Carolina Hurricanes was later signed by Major League Baseball's Los Angeles Dodgers as a free agent in 2003. He would appear in 16 games for the Dodgers between 2009 and 2011 with the balance of his career spent in the minors.
