The 1999 NCAA Division II Men's Ice Hockey Tournament was the fourteenth and final edition of the NCAA's Division II tournament. The tournament had been held from 1978 to 1984 and from 1993 to 1999. Division II at this point was down to eleven teams with the Northeast-10 conference and a few independents, Five of the teams were elevating to Divison I status within two seasons in newly formed conferences or playing down to the Division III level while staying in the Northeast-10 conference. Two teams participated in the tournament.
The St. Michael's Purple Knights hosted the New Hampshire College Penmen in either a two game total goal or first to three point series for the national championship on March 12th and 13th, 1999. The teams tied in the first game 4-4 and St. Michael's won the second game 8-5 to win the school's first men's ice hockey national championship.
