Vladislav Tretiak Friendship Cup[]
Oliver McGee scored in overtime to lift the Winkler Flyers to a 4-3 gold medal win over the Soviet Red Army in the inaugural Vladislav Tretiak Friendship Cup held in Chicago, in early December. Chris Jackson scored two goals for the Manitoba Junior Hockey League club, while Manitoba native Brendan Cook was the other goal getter. Cook was named MVP of the tournament and McGee top defenceman. Winkler finished the round-robin section with a 2-1 record, including a 2-0 shutout victory over Shattuck-St. Mary's by goaltender Josh Liebig.

Viking Cup[]
The MJHL's Manitoba Pride lost the Bronze Metal Game to Sweden U-18 5-4 in triple overtime at the Viking Cup. The event was held December 27 to January 5 in Camrose, Alberta hosted by Augustana University College.
All-Star Game[]
The MJHL All-Star Game was held on Saturday, February 5 in Portage la Prairie, with the Addison Division defeating the Allard Division 8-3. Game stars were Oliver McGee for Addison and Paul Austin for Allard.
