- The Brantford Smoke relocated to Asheville, North Carolina and were renamed the Asheville Smoke.
- The Saginaw Lumber Kings were renamed the Saginaw Gears
- The inactive Dayton Ice Bandits franchise was reactivated in Utica, New York as the Mohawk Valley Prowlers.
