The Warroad Lakers won the 1995 Manitoba-Saskatchewan championship by default to advance to the 1995 Allan Cup.

Background on DefaultEdit

The Cupar Canucks were leading the series two-games-to-one, when apparently the players on the Canucks had not planned on losing any games to the Lakers had only taken enough time off to play one game in Warroad on Sunday. Many of the players had to be back to work for Tuesday and had planned on their vacation time for the Allan Cup plus the team only had one bus. Games 1 and two were held in Cupar and games 3, 4, and 5 were scheduled for Warroad.

  • Cupar defeated Warroad 10-5
  • Cupar defeated Warroad 6-4
  • Warroad defeated Cupar 3-2

Cupar then forfeited the series and the Warroad Lakers advanced to the 1995 Allan Cup.
