Franchise changes[]
- The Michigan Falcons were relabeled the Detroit Falcons, however they did not move from Fraser, Michigan.
- The Muskegon Fury were added as an expansion team. The city had lost its' IHL team to the city of Cleveland the previous season.
- The Chatham Wheels were added as an expansion team.
