This was the 1991-92 Colonial Hockey League season. This was the league's first season.
The Michigan Falcons were based out of Fraser, Michigan. The Thunder Bay Thunder Hawks were awarded based on the sucess of the Thunder Bay Twins which were a senior level team, which caused the Twins franchise to fold. Flint, Michigan had lost its IHL team the season before.
