1989 Frozen Four

The 1989 Frozen Four was held March 30 to April 1, 1989 in St. Paul, Minnesota at St. Paul Civic Center.

The participants were:

The Harvard Crimson, playing in their 11th Frozen Four and their third championship game, finally won their first National Championship, defeating Minnesota 4-3 in overtime. This was the last Frozen Four to feature a consolation game, with Michigan State defeating Maine for third place. Starting with the 1990 Frozen Four, all teams defeated in the semifinal round were recognized only as semifinalists instead of third and fourth place.
