1987-88 AAHL season

This is the 1987-88 season of the All-American Hockey League. It was the league's second season. 

Franchise changes

• The Virginia Lancers and the Carolina Thunderbirds join the league when the AAHL and the Atlantic Coast Hockey League merged.
• The Dayton Jets and Troy Sabres merged to form the Miami Valley Sabres based out of Troy, Ohio
• The Port Huron Clippers joined the league only to fold at the end of the regular season.
• The Downriver Stars were renamed the Michigan Stars.
• The Michigan Stars would folded on November 30, 1987.
• The Johnstown Chiefs joined the league part way through the season.
