The 1986-87 Hardy Cup championships took place in Miramichi, New Brunswick
Note - The Canadian Amateur Hockey Association had given up on the Hardy Cup final as a big money loser. The owner of the Miramichi Packers subsidised the cost of bringing the Stony Plain Eagles to Miramichi. The New Brunswick Amateur Hockey Association donated the Canada Challenge Cup for the winner.
