Please note: After the series, the Spruce Kings protested the result claiming that the Golden Eagles did not play the mandatory 6 games necessary against Jr. B competitors to enter the Provincial playdowns. Kilimat played in the Pacific Northwest Hockey League, a mostly Intermediate level Senior league, as a Junior B team. The BCAHA informed Prince George that there protest was thrown out on the grounds that the Kilimat squad had been granted an exemption from the mandatory 6 games due to their remoteness from other Junior B leagues.
