Darryl Sittler ranked third in the NHL in scoring with 117 points.[1]
As part of the Super Series exhibition games against European hockey teams, the Maple Leafs played the Czechoslovak club Kladno on January 2, 1978. Kladno jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period and won 8-5. The game MVPs were Peter Stastny and Darryl Sittler, who both scored twice.
