1978–79>

The 1977–78 Cincinnati Stingers season was the Stingers' 3rd season in the World Hockey Association (WHA). The Stingers finished 7th in the league and did not qualify for the playoffs.

Off-season

The Stingers jerseys were the same design as in the 1975-76 season.

The league gave Robbie Ftorek and Claude Larose permission to both wear jersey #8.
