The 1974–75 New York Islanders season was the 3rd season for the franchise in the National Hockey League. The Islanders finished 3rd in the Patrick Division with a 33-25-22 record, clinching the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. In the Preliminary round, they defeated the New York Rangers and won in the Quarter-finals, over the Pittsburgh Penguins in seven games, after they had lost the first three. The Islanders lost in the Semi-finals to the Philadelphia Flyers 4 games to 3.
