This is the 1973-74 Central Collegiate Hockey Association season. This was the leagues third season.
Membership changes[]
- Ohio University dropped it varsity men's ice hockey program.
- The Ohio State Buckeyes left the conference to become an independent
Due the to conference only having three members, the conference invited the Western Michigan Broncos to participate in the conference tournament. Western Michigan established its program for the 1973-74 season. The school would join the conference for the 1975-76 season.
