This is the 1961-62 season of the Ontario Hockey Association's Junior A series:
Notes[]
The Toronto Marlboros and St. Michaels Majors withdrew from the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) Junior A this season and formed the Metro Toronto Junior A League.
This left the OHA without a team in a major city.
All the teams then were farm clubs of National Hockey League teams. The Montreal Canadiens had the Peterborough Petes in the OHA and had a team, the Hull Canadiens in the Interprovincial Senior Hockey League.
The Montreal Royals of the Eastern Professional Hockey League had just folded, leaving a gap in the city. With the encouragement of the other NHL teams and the permission of the Quebec Amateur Hockey Association, the Montreal Junior Canadiens were revived and joined the OHA.
