The Volants played an abbreviated schedule because they toured Europe in the fall of 1949.
Notes on playoff structure[]
The North Bay Black Hawks joined the 1949-50 Northern Ontario Senior Playoffs.
Playoffs were divided by geography to save on travel expenses.
One group was the Ottawa-Hull teams. The two bottom teams (Hull & Army) played a quarter final with the winner meeting the top team (RCAF) in the semi final.
The other group was the out-of-town teams. The two bottom teams (Renfrew & Cornwall) played a quarter final with the winner meeting the top team (Pembroke) in the semi final.
