Notes on playoff structure[edit | edit source]

The North Bay Black Hawks joined the 1949-50 Northern Ontario Senior Playoffs.

Playoffs were divided by geography to save on travel expenses.

One group was the Ottawa-Hull teams. The two bottom teams (Hull & Army) played a quarter final with the winner meeting the top team (RCAF) in the semi final.

The other group was the out-of-town teams. The two bottom teams (Renfrew & Cornwall) played a quarter final with the winner meeting the top team (Pembroke) in the semi final.
