The final series between North Bay and Garson had to be cancelled because of the regional playoff between Garson and Sudbury.
The league had no bearing on the regional playoffs. The Gunners, Black Hawks, and Miners were senior teams and entered the 1948-49 Northern Ontario Senior Playoffs. The Combines and Redmen were junior teams. The Combines entered the 1948-49 Northern Ontario Junior Playoffs but the Redmen withdrew, in part because of their poor record in this league.
