Because this league had looser residency rules than the Ottawa District Hockey Association allowed, Shawville could not advance to the 1945-46 Ottawa District Senior Playoffs. The league later declared Fort Coulonge as champions, granting them the Cahill Shield, after protests against them were thrown out. Shawville and Campbell's Bay had refused to continue playing with Fort Coulonge.
