The 1940-41 NLA season was the third season of the Nationalliga A. The league resumed its activities from where they were left in 1938-39, before the 1939-40 season was cancelled due to the Swiss Army mobilization in the wake of the World War II. There had however been some changes in the participating teams. EHC Arosa asked to be relegated to the Serie A; EHC St. Moritz was unable to ice a full team and was forced to forfeit the season. With only four teams left, the league invited HC Montchoisi Lausanne to be their fifth participant.
