Regular Season[]
After the death of Howie Morenz, the Howie Morenz Memorial Game was held at the Montreal Forum on November 2, 1937 to benefit Morenz's family. 8,683 fans attended, contributing $11,447 to an eventual total of over $20,000 in donations. A team of NHL All Stars played a combined team of the Montreal Maroons and Canadiens, defeating them 6-5.[1]
This was the last season for Pit Lepine, Aurel Joliat and Marty Burke. Burke had returned from Chicago in a trade for Bill McKenzie.
