Winnipeg Winnipegs dropped out of the second series for financial reasons. They were the only Senior A team in Manitoba and were supposed to play the province's Senior B champion - Selkirk.
However, Selkirk objected and the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association ordered the Winnipeg Winnipegs to play off with the Fort William Wanderers.
