The 1934–35 New York Americans season was the Americans' 10th season of play. The Americans finished 4th in the Canadian Division and did not qualify for the playoffs. This was the sixth straight season that they missed the playoffs and the ninth time out of ten seasons.

Pre-season

The Americans held their training camp in Oshawa, Ontario.

Regular Season

During the third period of the December 11, 1934 match versus the Boston Bruins, Nels Stewart and Lloyd Klein were given match penalties for a stick-swinging fight. Boston's Stewart received a 1 game suspension while Klein was assessed 3 games.

Center Art Chapman had a fantastic season, led the NHL in assists with 34 and finished with 43 points, 7th in the league. Chapman had only one minor penalty called against him all season but surprisingly, finished fourth in voting for the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy. Rookie Sweeney Schriner scored 40 points and won the Calder Memorial Trophy.
