Before the advent of widespread radio broadcasting, innovative ways were used to provide play-by-play of out-of-town games. In this ad a Regina movie theatre offered a running commentary on the final game in Calgary. A movie was also offered - a silent one, of course.
Stanley Cup playoffs
The Calgary Tigers won the WCHL championship and advanced directly to the Stanley Cup finals, where they would face the National Hockey League champion Montreal Canadiens. Montreal had previously defeated the Pacific Coast Hockey Association champions, the Vancouver Maroons. Montreal then defeated Calgary 2 games to 0 in the best of 3 series to win the Stanley Cup.
