The 1923–24 Hamilton Tigers season was the team's 4th year in the National Hockey League (NHL). The Tigers finished in last place and did not qualify for the playoffs.
Regular Season[]
A 1924-25 Tigers jersey. The 1923-24 jersey was the same except for thin stripes on the lower body.
The Tigers would change their jerseys four times in the five seasons they spent in the NHL. For their fourth season, their jerseys changed significantly. Thin horizontal black and gold stripes were on the arms and lower body of the jersey. A gold block in the center of the jersey was below a black block that ended at the neck. Gone were the variations of tigers as the logo, replaced with a stylized "H" with "Tigers" written across the horizontal bar of the letter. The black and gold striped socks had thinner stripes and white pants remained unchanged.
Although the Tigers finished last for the fourth straight year, there were signs of improvement. The team posted 9 wins and 18 points, their best showing, largely due to the acquisition of Alex McKinnon, Charlie Langlois and brothers Red Green and Shorty Green (a future member of the Hockey Hall of Fame) from the Sudbury Wolves of the NOHA.
