The 1918 flu pandemic was an influenza pandemic that spread around the world from March, 1918, to June, 1920. Approximately 50,000,000 people died.
It affected the 1919 Stanley Cup Finals. Members of the Montreal Canadiens came down with the disease and Joe Hall died. The series was cancelled and the cup was not awarded that year.
