This was the 1891 Ottawa City Hockey League season. The league was formed with 5 teams (Ottawa HC, Ottawa College, Gladstones, Dey's Rink Pirates and Ottawa Rideaus). It was decided to have a tournament to decide the champion and for the remainder of the season, each club was entitled to 2 challenges for the championship.
