Ässät (English: aces) is an ice hockey team in the Finnish elite league, SM-liiga. They play in Pori, Finland at the Porin jäähalli.
Team history[]
The team was established in 1967 by merging two local teams, Karhut and RU-38. The full name of the company operating the team is at present HC Ässät Pori Oy. They have won two Finnish Championships (1971, 1978), and several other medals – most recently silver in 2006. In addition both Karhut and RU-38 were one-time champions each.
The team traditionally plays in the Pitsiturnaus tournament each year. The team was also the host of KiekkoKansa Tournament in 2005 and 2006.
