Housekeeping
Just in case any of the regular editors of pages have been wondering what is going on from my edits lately, I have been clearing up some of the categories for unused photos, uncategorized pages, double redirects, wanted pages, wanted photos, and wanted categories. If you are curious about some of the things I have been deleting or recreating they are either duplicates or superceded photos while some pages were recreated as redirect templates to go directly to a page instead of having a broken link (this was a lot easier than editing in some cases up to 30 pages). I have saved many profile pictures that User:HockeyAl created with his yearly updates so he could reuse them if he wanted to create a series of pictures for players as they have…

A hockey mystery
Has anyone heard of the "Bankfield Millionaires"? I recently moved, and to my surprise,I discovered a hockey patch dating '38/'39. The patch is appx 4" in diameter and reads"Bankfield-Millionaires-Hockey-Club. The center of the patch gives us the date '38/'39,with the name BILL MACDONALD. I was hoping to possibly reach a team mate of his or more importantly a family member.

Referring to previous blogs, we now have located Claude Normandeau and Don Payne. A big thanks to Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame administration.
San Diego ComicCon
The famous San Diego Comic-Con International expo is about to happen this summer for the 47th time and of you are coming for the first time here is some advice.
Prepare the trip to this city (don’t think only Comic-Con) you should buy your flight tickets with anticipation (if you need this) and look for the best San Diego Airport shuttle option or plan the safest car route to get here. You can look for San Diego cheap off-airport parking and get great deals , save time and money looking for a spot. Search for Hotels near the convention. If you are wearing a costume don’t forget to pack extra buttons and all the extra your costume may need. Make a list of the nearest restaurants with phone numbers and make the reservations to eat (trust me, …

New Hockey Historyscope from the Historyscoper
If you want to get a good take on hockey's history, you don't need to read 50K articles on this Wiki, you can do it on the Historyscoper's Hockey Historyscope, a powerful eagle's eye view filled with hyperlinks to check facts and go deeper. It starts at the beginning and goes through this year's Stanley Cup Finals.

Others hockey hall of fame
I wonder if the hockey wiki could made some entries to the others hockey hall of fame like theWHA Hall of fame and the AHL Hall of fame for example? I think adding these infos might be notable.
On its beginnings, the AHL Hall of fame earlier inductees are Fred Glover, Wilie Marshall and Jody Gage and more recently, Frediric Cassivi.
US Tier III Junior Hockey
I don't know how much anyone has been paying attention to the status of Tier III Junior Hockey in the United States but it is very volatile to say the least.
The United States Premier Hockey League has worked out a plan with as many as 16 teams (with at least ten of them being from the Minnesota Junior Hockey League) to form a Midwest Division for the 2015-16 season. The league is also planning on scrapping the Premier, Elite, and Empire labels and using Tier I, II, and III.
The North American 3 Hockey League was appoved for two expansion teams by USA Hockey and awarded them to Evansville, Indiana and Sandy Point, Georgia.
At the start of the season the North American Hockey League reached an agreement with the Northern States Junior Hockey…

Hockey East
I have started working on Hockey East seasons. I started with the first season 84-85) on Saturday and will try to use that as the template that I wil use for the league's history (30 years) I created a 2013-14 season page Sunday morning as the regular season ended last night.
I also updated the Frozen Four page to update the events to the current and found information on the next several men's and wormen's tournament locations and included them in the section listed for appearances by location so it will be somewhat current for a while as the page has not been thoroughly updated in a few years.
I had also posted the 2013-14 Eastern Hockey League standings a few days ago
I will try focus my work on east coast junior leagues and Hockey Eas…

1924 Unknown Ottawa Team. Help identity.
Greetings,
I am trying to figure out some information regarding this photo. I was told my Great Grandfather ( middle row, second from the left - Armand Jos DeGuire 17 years old) played for this team in 1924 and it was called the Ottawa Flyers. I was told the V on the jersey represented the french word for Flyer, which I believe to be Volants.
After hours of online research I am still unable to discover anything about the team or trophy.
I initially thought this was the Hull team from the Lower Ottawa Valley League, but can't confirm.
Any information would be great!

Herb Jordan - former Renfrew Millionaire
Would anyone know the whereabouts of the family of Herb Jordan, who lived in Renfrew until he passed away in 1973?
Herb played for the Renfrew Millionaires and the Quebec Bulldogs. Herb was born in Quebec City. He was one of the founders of the Old Renfrew Golf course.
Brantford deserves an Ohl team
I heard many storys from my father about the brantford alexanders a major junior A hockey team that played in brantford ontario from the year 1978-1984. He said he misses watching the alexander's games and he really wishes a jr a hockey team returned to brantford ontario. I agree brantford deserves a ohl team we are the home town of wayne gretzky for christ sakes and plus we could get support for a team from is the olg casino and the chocolate factory. I am sure walter gretzky would climb abord us getting a team into brantford and we have a arena the could support a team. The arena is called the brantford and districted civic centre which seats around 3'000 people and could support about 4'000 people. The civic centre would have to undergo…

hockey in texas
I'm new here and i live in belton texas home of the now defunct Central Texas Stampede. I really miss hockey in my town. Currently my wife and i drive to Austin about 65 miles away to watch the Texas Stars. AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars. Anyone on here miss hockey in my town? The Stampede is what got me in to the game. I hv loved it ever since. I just wish hockey would return but in this economy it wouldn't last long. We hv the Bell County Exop Center which has been the home of the Stampede for all of its existance. I will always hv fond memories of all the games i attended. I still hv replica jerseys of the team. If there was any way hockey could return to the area a new arena or something. The Temple Belton and Killeen are…

Stanley Cup winning members
I have been editing Wikkipedia list of winning members for a few years who have won the Stanley Cup. Almost all player position, sweater numbers, and most non-players I have added to the list. I have also added any known first names that were missing. I am still missing some first names. I have used the following 5 rules to decided on which members are included in the list of each Stanley Cup winning members list. 1. Name is engraved on the Stanley Cup for winning team (1907 Montreal Wanderers, 1915 Vancouver Millionaires, and every season since 1924 Montreal Canadiens.)
2. Any person included on the team picture. I have not found a team pictures for 1904 Ottawa Silver Sevens, 1906 Ottawa Silver Sevens, 1910 Ottawa Senators, 1899 Montreal S…

New York Rangers Score First Off Season Goal
This current weekend was the first weekend of the NHL's free agency market. While most people were out planning and enjoying their barbecues and other Fourth of July festivities, many hockey executives were trapped in the board rooms trying to acquire the best players for the next season.
The New York Rangers in many ways seemed to emerge as the pack's front runners. The Rangers were able to get the highly sought after center Brad Richards. Richards signed to the team for the price of sixty million dollars for nine years.
The Rangers, however, weren't the only team working over the holiday weekend. The Buffalo Sabres added Christian Ehrhoff, Ville Leino, Drew Stafford, and Nathan Gerbe.
Other teams active throughout the first weekend of free …

It's Official: The Winnipeg Jets are Back
CBC Sports reports that Winnipeg's new team will be officially called the Winnipeg Jets, just before the NHL draft is scheduled to commence at 7 pm EST. Other names that had been considered include the Manitoba Jets, Manitoba Moose and Winnipeg Falcons.
Unsurprisingly, the Jets was the most popular name among Winnipeggers, and Scott Brown, spokesperson for Jets owners True North Sports & Entertainment, confirmed the name with CBC.
It's safe to assume that most of you agree with the name, but feel free to tell just how excited you are that Winnipeg is finally coming back to the NHL.

Vancouver Riot's "Kissing Couple" Give Tell-All Interview for CBC
Alex Thomas and Scott James, the "kissing couple" who became famous after a photograph surfaced of them sharing a brief moment of love during the post-Stanley Cup riots in Vancouver, have given an exclusive interview to CBC describing their experience on the streets during the worst rioting in the city's history since the 1994 Cup Finals. Hit the jump to hear their story.
Vancouver Rioter Turned Over to RCMP By His Own Parents
CBC News reports that a 17-year-old teenager from Burnaby, British Columbia, is now in RCMP custody after his own parents alleged that he was involved in the rioting which took place after the Vancouver Canucks lost the Stanley Cup final on Wednesday.
The Mounties' Burnaby division has the teenager, whose name cannot be released to the public under Canada's Youth Criminal Justice Act, held in custody after photos were posted online of him breaking into a Louis Vuitton store near Howe and West Georgia St.
In the aftermath of the Vancouver riots, many sobered participants are turning themselves in, while others are still at large. Vancouver police and Mounties are using pictures posted on Facebook to help identify suspects.

Post-Winter Classic
Howdy hockey fans,
I was lucky enough to attend the Winter Classic in Pittsburgh this New Year's Day and wanted to post some of my photos for everyone to check out:
Hope to be able to go next year! What did everyone think of the game?
